Hello, my name is Begoña, I´m 21 years old and I´m a Venezuelan currently living in Malta. I would like to introduce you to my new blog, in which you will read about my comments on Venezuelan news. Let me give you a small introduction:

Venezuela is a beautiful country located in the North of South America, right next to Colombia, Brazil, and facing the Caribbean Sea. It is full of great natural beauties, oil and amazing people. But right now Venezuela is going through some difficult times. Our goverment is destroying our country and making of Venezuela a miserable place, where nationals are leaving in the search of having a decent quality of life (yes, that´s why I´m living here). My country is going through the worst economic crisis of all our history: there is no medicine, there is no food, there is no freedom of speech, we have politics and students unfairly in jail, we have prostested and we were shooted to death. Hundreds of kids are dying everyday because of the lack of conditions to grow up in a healthy environment. Even though it is not accepted by the goverment, we actually have a dictatorship. There is no separation of powers, there is no justice, there is no security in the streets ( having your phone in your hand while you walk on the street is reason enough to kill you while they are trying to rob you).

Probably you didn´t know about all this, and that´s because there is a lot of censure in Venezuela. Just a small part of all that actually happens, makes its way to the international news.

So, I want you to know what is happening. In this blog I will find the most important news, I will explain them to you and I will comment them and give you my opinion, as a Venezuelan abroad. It´s possible that the news I find are in Spanish, but don´t worry, I am here to translate them to you and make you aware of every single fact.

Thank you!
